: Peter Jennings, r.i.p
Poor Pety. From all accounts I've heard he was a real warm and friendly guy off camera. True I probably didn't agree politically with him on anything. But politics are just that. This guy was a professional and hopefully won't receive any criticism from my fellow right wingers. There are times to bicker and times to put differences aside and come together to honor the memory of a great journalist. And Jennings was indeed said noun.
RJ did in fact come over earlier today. I thought the rehearsal went really well. We mainly just focused on the Copeland track, since that would be the hardest one to do. Not sure if we'll be doing the Switchfoot or the Vertical Horizon ditties in addition to "Sanctuary," but chances are we'll be able to do both. Well, all three. Or four.
We swung by a Seven Eleven afterwords, and I bought RJ one of those frapachino in a jar things they sell. I like them ok, but coffee just has to be hot in my opinion. Oh white chocolate moca, how I miss thee!!! But I've dropped five pounds since Tuesday, so I can do without one for awhile.
Tonight was pretty average. I'll do my best to be up at 3AM for the Shuttle Discovery coverage. We'll see if that happens, or if I sleep till noon.
And as much as it may seem unlikely for me to say, I really do like Copeland. And anyone who doesn't own their latest CD needs to pick it up. I don't care for their attempts at mainstream punk rock, but "Don't Slow Down," "Kite," and "Sleep" make it worth the price. I'm still in the process of warming up to Vertical Horizon. The bridge on "Gray Sky Morning" is pretty dern good though. But if I start buying Greenday CD's, someone shoot me.
